I usually post a round up of what’s been happening in and outside of the kitchen over the month on the last week of the month but this week’s newsletter is all about cake because Bake Off is back and I have a brand new cake recipe published on Only Crumbs Remain. I’ll send my monthly behind the scene newsletter next week instead.
My new Devils food cake traybake has been given a Halloween themed twist but if you only make it once a year you will be seriously missing out. Change the decoration and make it for whenever you want an easy to make absolutely delicious indulgent chocolate cake.
Did you watch Bake Off? This week the signature dish was a loaf cake. The fact that the contestants elaborately decorated their cakes seemed to me a little over the top for loaf cakes, though ofcourse it makes for better TV. To me the perfect loaf cake is all about simplicity, and letting the ingredients shine through, so why not try one of my quick to make and delicious loaf cakes below.
