Favourite Recipes – Best of 2023
One year on and Recipe Crumbs takes a look back at the most popular Recipes Made Easy and Only Crumbs Remain recipes from 2023 and look forward to more to come in 2024.
Hello, and Happy New Year to you all!
I hope you have all had a good Christmas and New Year. I've enjoyed the break and spending quality time with family and friends over good food.
It’s hard to get my head around the fact we are already 2 weeks into the new year.
This week marks an anniversary for Recipe Crumbs news’s newsletter. It has been a year since I decided to write a combined newsletter incorporating news from both my Recipes Made Easy and Only Crumbs Remain websites. It was a good move, as I was struggling to write a weekly newsletter for each blog individually. Since starting Recipes Crumbs, I have been much more consistent and only missed two weeks (not including a short break over Christmas and New Year). This year I will be trying even harder and see if I can make it every week.
Since that first Recipe Crumbs Newsletter, my subscriber’s list has continued to grow from strength to strength, so a big thank you to both old and new readers who are just joining me. I hope you enjoy reading Recipe Crumbs each week.
The main Recipe Crumbs newsletter bringing you news from the blogs is free and always will be, but I have a few paid subscribers. These special subscribers really help me keep producing recipes to share with my readers, and a special thank you goes to them. I really appreciate your extra support. As a thank you, I hope to share more free exclusive recipes with my paid subscribers this year in addition to the main Recipe Crumbs Newsletter.
To kick off this year, I thought I would take a quick look back at last year’s highlights and share again the posts that were the most popular over the last 12 months.
I am looking forward to sharing many more recipes, both old and new, with you over the coming year. I'll also be sharing a little of what is happening behind the scenes and any interesting or fun foodie news. So watch this space.
Until next time, have a delicious week.
The Best of Recipes Made Easy 2023
There was very little change in the top 10 posts for 2023 compared to the year before. The number one spot still taken by my Easy Tomato chutney with mainly a reshuffle of order with the other recipes. Mr B's Award Winning Rhubarb Chutney dropped out of the top 10, and my sage and onion recipe is making an appearance.
While not quite in the top 10, my Sausage and Apple Traybake recipe, a new recipe in 2023, also proved a big hit.
Sausage and Apple Traybake
This simple all-in-one sausage and apple traybake is so quick to prepare, making it perfect for a midweek family dinner.
Just pop the prepared ingredients into a roasting tin and let the oven do the work.

The Best of Only Crumbs Remain 2023
There was much more change in the top 10 posts for Only Crumbs Remain, with just four remaining from the previous year and my traditional Vanilla fudge keeping the top spot.
Popular new recipes included my Clementine and Cranberry Upside Down Cake and Redcurrant and White Chocolate Blondies
Clementine and Cranberry Upside Down Cake
The humble upside-down cake has been given a festive twist. Clementine and cranberries form a delicious fruity layer on top of a light sponge cake. If you have a few fresh or frozen cranberries left over (they always seem to disappear so quickly from the shops after Christmas so I make sure I have some frozen) it makes a delightful winter pudding served with lashings of Custard.
Redcurrant and White Chocolate Blondies
You can make these with frozen redcurrants or substitute other blueberries to make the blondies out of season.
