Guinness Cake with Whiskey Cream and Easter Roasts
Guinness cake is the perfect treat for this coming Sunday. Meanwhile with Easter just around the corner, now is a good time to start planning the holiday meals.
Hello Friends
I’m back with my weekly round-up of suggested recipes to make sure you have some delicious meals and treats in store, starting with a new recipe on Only Crumbs Remain, Guinness Cake with Whiskey Cream.
It is a divine combination of moist fruit cake enriched with dates and figs, crowned with a creamy whiskey-infused cream cheese topping.
It is the ideal cake to eat this weekend if you are celebrating St. Patrick's Day, and a delicious cake to enjoy any time.
I’m also thinking ahead for Easter. I usually stay in London for the Easter break and if one or both of my boys are around cook a special Sunday roast. You will find all the recipes you need for a good roast dinner on Recipes Made Easy. From traditional and not so traditional roasts , to perfect roast potatoes and vegetable sides and not forgetting Yorkshire puddings.
It’s been a long time since we have had roast beef so that is what I am planning to do rather than the more traditional leg of lamb, served with all the trimmings of course. What are your plans for Easter?
Next week I’ll share some great Easter bakes, not that I need an excuse to start baking.
Until next time have a delicious week
Guinness Cake with Whiskey Cream
Flavoured with Guinness, dates, and figs, this cake is packed with flavour. I first made this cake to celebrate St. Patrick's day a few years ago, but it's too good to keep just for that. Enjoy it all year round!
Roast Dinners – The Joints
A good roast dinner is hard to beat and you don't get much more that is traditionally British than roast beef. Roast pork with crispy crackling and roast chicken are also classic Sunday Roasts, but why not try something a little different.
Stuffed Pork Tenderloin Roll
Paul’s Sweet and Sour slow cooked Pork
Not only is it simplicity itself to make, it tastes fantastic. Cooked in a slow cooker, this recipe is perfect if you want to prep and forget about it until it ready.
But If it has to be lamb for you try this
Roast Lamb with Boulangerie Potatoes
Garlicky lamb cooked on top of sliced potatoes that has been adapted from an old French recipe when the dish would be taken to the local bakery for cooking.
Roast Dinner – The Sides
Yorkshire Pudding
Yorkshire puddings are just about everyones favourite so check out how to make perfect Yorkshire puddings

and don’t forget the
The Whiskey Cream looks ah-mazing.
Added to to do list thanks. I’ve cooked a piece of brisket in oven spread with Dijon mustard and cooked slowly with wine, water , a little homemade hedgerow jelly ,juniper berries and seasoning. Sat on bed of onion, carrot and celery. We’ve just had some for dinner alongside roast veg. Remainder of stock will make soup and remainder of beef will make another couple of days meals or sandwiches for us both.
