Hello or Yassas friends

I’m feeling a little guilty while those at home in the UK are complaining of the distinct lack of Summer, as I'm sitting writing this on my terrace in Greece in an early heatwave, enjoying loads of lovely fresh salads and summery foods. So it has been very easy for me to get in the mood for thinking about all the summer berries and other delicious summer foods .

While summer may still be feeling a while off for those back home, it won’t be long before red, white and blackcurrants are in season. It may be a little later than usual this year due to the lack of sun, but hopefully plentiful when they do arrive after the wetter than usual spring weather.

These berries burst with flavour so it is worth making the most of them when they do appear. From making jams and preserves, to cakes and bakes, and even savoury dishes there are plenty of ways to use them.

This week I have put together a collection of my favourite redcurrant recipes so that you can easily find them and then they are all just one click away. This week we heard of the tragic death of Michael Mosley while on holiday on a Greek Island. I was deeply saddened to hear this news as I have much admired his work over many years. We have lost a person who did so much good in educating us about health and diet, cutting through so much noise and miss information on the subject. With such good advice presented in a simple and easy to follow manner, he will be very much missed.
