Hello
As we head into the late summer holiday weekend it really does feel like the summer (yes I know what summer?) is almost over. But I am never completely sad at the change of season as each one brings its own delights. Autumn is when I really start baking again so that puts me in my happy place for a start.
There are still some late summer fruits to be enjoyed. I am currently at our cottage in Suffolk doing a bit of gardening. Here I have apple trees and a plum tree but sadly this year the crop is rather sparse as the fruit trees got hit by particularly wet and windy weather just as they were in blossom. But I shall value the small amount of fruit I do get all the more.
Hopefully, there will be enough plums to make my plum and almond traybake as it is one of my favourite seasonal bakes. If you have been more fortunate than me and need more plum recipes check out my Plum Recipe collection on Recipes Made Easy, which has plum recipes from both myself and other trusted bloggers.
That’s it from me I’m off to do some more gardening. Hope the sun shines on your long weekend.
Have a delicious week.
