Sourdough September
It's hard to beat a loaf of fresh crusty bread, it is truly one of life's joys. So what could be better than mastering easy no knead sourdough bread so you can enjoy great homemade bread?
Hello again
Last week I used National Love Lamb week as an excuse to share some delicious lamb recipes published on Recipes Made Easy. This week I’m getting behind Sourdough September. As the daughter of a master baker I grew up with good bread and regulars to my blogs will know I like making my own bread. Sourdough bread is no exception in fact it is the bread I make most often! Once you get the hang of it ,it’s so easy!
Sourdough September is a campaign now in its 10th year, orchestrated by the dedicated team behind the Real Bread Campaign. It has a straightforward mission: to inspire individuals to either purchase authentic sourdough bread or, ideally, embark on the journey of crafting their own sourdough loaves in the comfort of their homes.
I first shared my method for making an easy no-knead sourdough on Recipes Made Easy back in 2016. I had already been making it regularly for several years. Since then, I have gathered even more tips for getting great results and it was time for an update. So I have published a complete ,new and improved post on my baking blog Only Crumbs Remain.
It just takes a few simple ingredients: flour salt and water. A lot of time and a bit of effort (about 10 minutes hands on time) to make great tasting sourdough in your own home. If you love real sourdough bread you will save a fortune compared to buying authentic sourdough bread (the cheaper supermarket version is just flavoured with dried sourdough starter).
I really hope you will give it a go ,It’s a lot less scary than you may think.
Until next time
Have a delicious week.
