Summer Drinks
Whether you're hosting a party having a barbecue, on a picnic or simply relaxing at home, try one of these refreshing summer drinks.
Hi
I usually sit down to write my newsletters on a Friday ready to send out Saturday morning. But this Friday the sun was out, it was hot and sticky and I just couldn’t think what to write about.
Finally the rain has left us and with lots of great summer recipes all ready on both Recipes Made Easy and Only Crumb Remain, I just couldn’t decide which ones were the best to share with you this week.
I haven’t worked much on the front end of either blogs except to fully update my raspberry and redcurrant jam recipe (I’ll be making some this week with raspberries from my allotment and some frozen redcurrants that my friend picked while I was away) but I felt I have been banging on about summer berries rather a lot over the last few weeks, so that didn’t inspire me.
I could have sharedsome recipes for barbecues or al fresco eating, but yet again, there’s rain forecasted on the horizon, so I didn’t want to jinx the warm weather for the weekend by sharing those.
I guess you would call it writer block! So instead of writing my newsletter I did some house work, I really know how to live 😂 😂.
But today, I spent the afternoon working in the garden at our cottage in Suffolk. It was very thirsty work, and I wished I had made a jug of sharp and refreshing homemade lemonade. It would have been perfect. And then it struck me—I haven’t shared any drink recipes with my readers for a long time. So here I am, around 12 hours later than usual. I hope you will forgive me.
These drinks come into their own when the sun is out, but they are great all year round for parties, barbecues, picnics or just because….
Cheers
Have a good week, and I will see you next Saturday. Hopefully, next week It won’t be late.
