Hello friends
and welcome to my monthly look back behind the scenes of what’s been happening both on line and in my home life.
Can it really be the end of November already? Where is the time going? I hope you have had a good month and that my American readers had a happy and delicious Thanksgiving.
For me, it has been a super busy month both on the blogs and at home. The month started with a party to celebrate the engagement of my younger son and his girlfriend at her parents house up in North London. It was a lovely evening ( and breakfast next morning) , meeting her family and friends in a casual gathering with lots of lovely food and drink. By chance it was also my birthday, so we celebrated that as well!
Meanwhile, my eldest son and his girlfriend used a few days of their holiday to book a date at the chapel and decide upon the location for the reception of their big day. We are going to have a busy 2025!
I did the first of a run of the Christmas charity gigs with my choir where, with the help of the team from Pancreatic Cancer UK we raised nearly £3000 singing in the foyer of one of the big London railway stations on a freezing evening rush hour. My father died from Pancreatic cancer a few years ago, so it is a charity I love to support and singing for them is a fun way to do so.
We also had an all-day rehearsal of our Christmas repertoire, so for the next few weeks, the gigs will be full-on Christmas songs.
On Only Crumbs Remain, I published a Tiramisu Swiss Roll Recipe, plus my mini Christmas cakes and some fun, festive fondant figures, which make great Christmas cake decorations.
While on Recipes Made Easy I published two new recipes. Mashed Swede plus yesterday I published my recipe for Easy Homemade Brandy Sauce.
Meanwhile, as the festive baking gets started, I’m off to the kitchen to make a batch of mince pies to serve with the brandy sauce.
That's it’s for now. Until next time, have a delicious week

Mince Pies
I love mince pies and they are a regular treat in December (a bit too regular if I’m honest). I'm partial to a shop-bought mince pie, but they taste even better when you make your own mincemeat (it's very easy) and use it in your own pies. In fact i like them so much I have several variations of homemade mince pies for you to try.
